Both ends are rounded rather than pointed, which is the design decision that matters: the tool has to
carry material into a narrow space without its own tip being the thing that does damage on the way in.
The maxi has more body than the mini, so it stays steady when you need to push against resistance.
The mini is the one to reach for on small nails and tight folds. Most practitioners end up with both.

Care
Stainless steel, autoclavable. Dry it fully before it goes back in the pouch: moisture left in a joint is what causes staining, not the sterilisation itself.
