Podoland Mani & Podo Bit Set

A five-bit set covering the work around and under the nail plate, from reduction through to the fine clearing that a large bit cannot do.

The sizes are the reason to buy it as a set rather than picking bits individually. Below about 2 mm the choice stops being about shape and starts being about how far into a space the head will go, and this set gives you 1.2 mm and 1.8 mm in both a ball and a point.

What is in the set

• 4-in-1 bit, 5 mm — stainless steel, cross-cut with a diamond section, red and blue band. Reconstruction work, shortening, reducing thickened plate, cuticle.
• Narrow cone, 1.2 mm — diamond coated stainless, rounded tip, black protective nanocoating, blue band. Clearing along the nail folds and under the plate edge, levelling the edge.
• Needle point, 1.8 mm — diamond coated stainless, black nanocoating, blue band. Fine work at the proximal end of the plate and along the folds.
• Carbide ball, 1.2 mm — sharp cut, black nanocoating, blue band. Precise clearing in spaces the larger heads will not enter.
• Diamond ball, 1.8 mm — diamond coated stainless, black nanocoating, blue band. Clearing the nail folds and hard-to-reach areas of the plate.

Care

Clean and disinfect between clients like any other reusable instrument. Let it dry fully before it goes back in the block: a bit put away damp is how a shank starts to corrode where you cannot see it.
