Take length in two or three cuts rather than one across the whole nail. A single cut across the full width is what starts a split down the layers.

Care

Stainless steel, so it takes autoclaving and chemical disinfection between clients. Dry it properly before it goes back in the pouch: moisture left in a hinge is what causes staining and eventually stiffness, not the sterilisation itself.
