10 mm is the middle of the range and the size most technicians work with day to day: enough jaw to clear a fold in two passes, short enough to stay controllable in the corners.

Double spring between the arms. That is what you feel when a nipper is worth the money: the return is even, the close is quiet, and you can stop the jaw exactly where you meant to instead of letting it snap shut.

The blades are ground to close along their whole length. That is the difference between a nipper that cuts and one that tears, and a torn edge is what the client picks at afterwards.

Care

Stainless steel, so it takes autoclaving and chemical disinfection between clients. Dry it properly before it goes back in the pouch: moisture left in a hinge is what causes staining and eventually stiffness, not the sterilisation itself.
